I’ve been building technology companies for four decades. It started in 1985, in a dorm room at the University at Buffalo, where I rebuilt surplus and broken computers into working machines and sold desktops, printers, and peripherals to put myself through school. By 1990 I had founded MaxiMed, a healthcare-technology company where I served as president, integrating early electronic health-records systems for medical practices. I sold it in 1995 — and thirty years later, regulated healthcare data is still at the center of my work. My roots in security run nearly as deep: I was among the first 500 employees at McAfee, working in the field before the word “cybersecurity” existed.

Over the two decades that followed, I scaled enterprise technology companies across the country — as Canonical’s first enterprise sales leader in North America, and through Fortune 500 IT-outsourcing and digital-transformation engagements at CompuCom worth over $200M. My specialty was always the hardest early part: standing up go-to-market strategy, channel and alliance programs, and teams from zero. Today I also advise private-equity-backed technology firms as a fractional growth executive.

As co-founder and CEO of Intelligent Automation — the NJ-based cybersecurity firm I founded in 2013 with partners Daniel Ramos and Victor Ramos — I bring that full arc to bear. I’m a deliberately hands-on founder: I set client strategy, run quarterly business reviews, serve as one of our virtual CxOs, deliver GRC and security consulting, and act as a senior technical escalation point when clients need one.

I hold a B.A. in Communications and Information Systems Management from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). I previously served on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s IT Industrial Advisory Committee (2007–2012), co-host the TechReact podcast, and stay active in the Warwick, New York community where I live with my family.

My path into cybersecurity leadership started in telecommunications and network engineering, where I spent the better part of two decades designing, deploying, and supporting the voice and data infrastructure that businesses run on — enterprise networking, Cisco Unified Communications, and the LAN/WAN and wireless architectures (Meraki, Aruba) that carry it all. That foundation, built on keeping complex, always-on systems running reliably under real operational pressure, is what shaped how I think about security today: not as a bolt-on control, but as an extension of the network and infrastructure decisions made from day one.

As CTO of Intelligent Automation, I lead the strategic technology and security direction for clients across business, education, and local government. I also serve independently as a Virtual CISO and fractional CTO, bringing 20+ years of hands-on experience designing, securing, and managing enterprise technology environments to organizations that need executive-level security leadership without the cost of a full-time hire.

I don’t just advise on AI governance — I build under it. I’ve engineered production security and GRC applications through a collaborative AI development process, delivering a multi-tenant platform spanning service management, threat intelligence, identity, and compliance mapping across HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, and CMMC — with human-in-the-loop review and least-privilege data controls at every step.

A proud member of the InfraGard National Alliance, I actively contribute to safeguarding critical infrastructure. More than 25 years as an Emergency Medical Services volunteer has sharpened my ability to perform under pressure, lead in crisis, and protect what matters most.

Raymond Lorenzana Jr. brings over two decades of senior financial leadership to Intelligent Automation, with deep expertise spanning financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and enterprise-scale controls design. As Senior Group Controller at Jellyfish, he grew the U.S. finance function from three to thirteen team members, led a balance-sheet clean-up that identified $10–12M in account corrections, and cut the company’s internal audit cycle from four months to under two — all while implementing month-end close processes that reduced reporting errors by 15–20%.

Before Jellyfish, Raymond spent 18 years at VMLY&R, part of the WPP advertising network, rising to Vice President/Assistant Controller. There he restructured financial policies covering more than 250 SOX controls, streamlined month-end close by 20%, and helped the Shared Financial Services group earn a Top 5 ranking for consistent clean audit results across the VMLY&R North America network.

Raymond holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business. His rigor in financial controls, audit governance, and enterprise-scale reporting brings a critical layer of fiscal discipline and trust to the executive team.

I serve as Chief Compliance Officer at Intelligent Automation, where I provide executive leadership in designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise-wide compliance and ethics programs that protect the organization, strengthen stakeholder trust, and enable sustainable growth. I partner closely with executive leadership, legal counsel, internal audit, cybersecurity, and business operations to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded into strategic decision-making, while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.

My approach to governance is rooted in a principle I’ve carried out since the earliest days of my career: knowing exactly who has access to what, and why. As an Identity Access Administrator at Rosetta Stone, I governed access across 13 enterprise systems for a workforce of over 2,000 — the kind of granular access control and audit discipline that today underpins regulatory frameworks like SOC 2, HIPAA, and NIST.

That same governance instinct now shapes how I build compliance frameworks at Intelligent Automation — assessing organizational risk, establishing internal controls, monitoring regulatory change, and advising executive leadership and the Board of Directors on emerging compliance risks and mitigation strategies. I lead enterprise risk assessments, direct regulatory examinations and internal audits, and prepare compliance reporting for senior leadership, all while championing a culture where compliance is treated as a driver of trust and business performance — not just a legal obligation.

My earlier career spans telecommunications, network security, and large-scale IT risk management, including work supporting Fortune 500-scale operations for organizations such as Deutsche Bank and Robert Wood Johnson. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Information Technologies and a Master’s in Cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University.

I believe compliance is at its best when it’s a competitive advantage — creating an ethical, transparent, and resilient organization capable of navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape while supporting long-term growth.
